Hi All,

I strictly do not mean to offend anyone, however i have recently moved to TN and have faced 3-4 racist incidents already in last 15 days mostly from nashville, which have deeply hurt me and also i am shocked as i have not come across anything like this when i was staying in west coast..the reason why i am posting this here is to know if this is common here or am I the only one facing this..for eg: even when i call someone after looking their ad in craigslist for car the first thing i am being asked is if i am indian and then they abuse or say something bad abt indians and hang up and this has not happened once..

Hi All

Thanks for your response, its definitely a new perspective of looking at a situation and i am glad to have that insight. however in my case or the situation that I was referring to, has nothing to do with negotiation, I was mentioning of incidents where the conversation has not even reached to that level abt negotiation, when i call someone for the car i would have just said that this is abt their ad in cg for car and the resposne that i have got is what i have mentioned above that they are not interested in selling cars to us, abuse and hang up. its just not car the same thing happened elsewhere as well. Anyways I am learning to deal with it in a better way and thanks once again.

Nashville is a wonderful city to live, a good comunity and good people, either Indian or American, both are good and lovely. The problem you faced is due to Indian's negotiation nature, they already put price reasonable and if we keep nogotiating, it will get irritated for them. It doesnt mean that its racist. Be honest and discuss your needs, if the price is too far high, dont call and screw them. Just simple :)

If its just car, then you are right. Indians prefer clean title car (Mostly rebuilt sold here). So they get frustrated. Also we tend to visit 2-3times and negotiate on prices, somehow it does not go well with their mentality. I think its not racist, its Indian mindset they dont like.
I had this expr last month when I was looking for car.
K, am moving out of this country now..let me know if you interested in buying Chrysler Convertible,2002,clean title.
Dont worry I will talk to you : ) @ 615 804 3140. Enjoy.
