After steadily falling for four consecutive weeks, long-term mortgage rates rose modestly this week.
Freddie Mac says a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 4.28 percent in the week ending Feb. 13, up from 4.23 percent last week. A 15-year fix averaged 3.33 percent, unchanged from last week.
A one-year adjustable-rate mortgage averaged 2.55 percent this week, up from 2.51 percent.
"Mortgage rates were little changed amid a week of light economic reports," said Freddie Mac chief economist Frank Nothaft.
Home prices continue to rise, even as sales slow.
